"They Have a Howard Johnson's There" by Jessie Kilguss Album Review

I really liked the guitar solo at the beginning of Howard Johnsons. The whole song reminds me how love can take us on a crazy ride. Fools Fight uses the line, “Running through my body like a current…like a rising tide in the full moon.” At times, we try to fight love because of past experiences, not realizing that real love isn’t something you search for, it finds you when you least expect it. Fighting this feeling is definitely a fool’s fight. St. Teresa gave me a sense of hope and purity. Chasing Down a Ghost also has some awesome lyrics: “Fifty sharks around me, I’m left in raging seas.” Lost Causes reminds me of those moments when time is ticking, and we ask ourselves how to make things right in a relationship before tossing in the towel. The album concludes with Jesus Was a Cross Maker, a beautiful piece that guides us through Jesus' love. I definitely recommend the album!
