a little note from the basement

Heyyy everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s Alma, and I'm sitting here thinking about all the tiny, loud, and beautiful moments we’ve shared at KRCX this year… the playlists, the interviews, the Basement meetings that make this place feel like home. It's wild to think this little corner in Clarke Hall started as a small student idea and grew into what people know as Denver's oldest college radio station. It really shows how something built on passion can grow into a whole community.
This semester felt full in so many different ways. Even though we weren’t streaming this semester… at least not during the time I joined… Some of my colleagues got to experience more behind-the-scenes opportunities, and I'm honestly so grateful for them. I've learned from watching them, laughing with them, and seeing how they pour love into this station. Being around that kind of energy makes you want to grow, too.
We were invited to concerts, met incredible artists, and connected with promoters who believed in us and supported what we do. and some of the best memories happened right on the quad through events, music, small moments, big laughs, and connecting with the Regis community in the sun (and sometimes the cold).
To everyone reading this, thank you. Whether you knew we weren’t streaming, or you’ve just been supporting us from the sidelines, you’re part of why KRCX keeps going. thank you for showing up, for sharing our posts, for talking about us, for caring about student radio even when life gets hectic. you make the basement feel less like a space and more like a family.
And to our followers on social media, seriously, thank you. every like, comment, dm, repost… it means more than you think. If you haven’t followed yet, go ahead, we promise there’s more good stuff coming.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at KRCX!! Stay warm, eat something good, and see you soon.
