MIXTAPE V1 by KayCyy

This Halloween, KayCyy dropped his 3rd mixtape of the year, bringing fans more new music with higher levels of production. It seems as if KayCyy is on a dropping spree with the way he is being consistent with new music as he leads up to the debut album.

MIXTAPE 1 was initially released on Soundcloud early for fans to select the 12 best songs from a selection of 16 to be published. This served as a successful interactive experience between KayCyy and his fans to put out a project together, leading him to end up dropping all 16 songs. And KayCyy did not disappoint as he delivered some of the catchiest hooks and verses of his career yet.

The mixtape opens up with the somber song “What’s Wrong With Me?” and quickly transitions into “Expensive Tears”, a moody-melodic song with the performance from both KayCyy & LilSccrt, accompanied by amazing production. “SUPRISE!” and “MIX” feature classic KayCyy flows that heavily resemble the era of PATIENT ENOUGH, the first mixtape dropped under the name KayCyy on streaming services other than Soundcloud.

“WALK4YA” features Tommy Revenge, another up-and-coming artist, on a bass-boosted track. Delivering the funnest performances from the mixtape yet, with its rage-filled beat. Tommy Revenge then produced the following track, “King Of The Hill”, which has three really long verses with some of the catchiest lyrics yet, really feeling like one big verse with an infinite amount of wordplay. “Don’t Worry Mom (Interlude)”, “Why You Nice?”, “I Belong To No One” and

“Hauntin’ Rhymes with China” pick up from the new production style KayCyy was experimenting with from BEFORE I WAS BORN, the mixtape that was released before this one. “Who Knows?” replicates the moody-melodic vibe he was playing with in the earlier track “Expensive Tears”, showing KayCyy’s range in being able to shift sounds to perform a multitude of genres. Which ironically then transitions into “RAZOR IT” and “Contest ??? with 33Maxx, and DAISY SIMO”, sounds very different from his previous work he has created, adding to the catchy vibe he has had linger all throughout the project.

KayCyy has proved once again that his talent can really make him shine in an industry where many artists are producing low-quality work or are replicating the same sound over and over again. And he also does not need to rely on bigger artists to confirm that.
