Machine Girl, an electronic music project originally created and founded in 2012 by Matt Stephenson, is now in the Top 5 of NACC Electronic Music. Originally, Stephenson was the only member until 2015 when drummer Sean Kelly then later in 2024 guitarist Lucy Caputi joined.

WLFGRL was the first album to release in 2014, once Kelly joined, the duo released a 4 albums together. Later on, the trio released 2 more albums, their latest being PsychoWarrior: MG Ultra X in October 2025.

Many people don’t know what type of music Machine Girl releases and for the most part neither did I. But with a little research, I’ve come to know that you can’t put this band behind just one label, as a matter of fact they don’t want to be in just one genre anyway. During a previous interview with Revolver Magazine, Stephenson described the band as “fucked-up electronic music”.

The album PsychoWarrior: MG Ultra X is their latest album filled with anger and riot energy. The trio blends multiple genres into their own version of controlled chaos, the genres range from punk rock and electric to industrial and metal.

Most recently Machine Girl is to start their international tour on January 21, 2026 starting with a sold out show in Dublin, Ireland, traveling across the United Kingdom before heading to Belgium, France, Netherlands, and Germany. Once February 27th hits, the band is traveling across the sea to New Jersey to kick off the American side of the tour. After New Jersey, they will travel to multiple states, including 3 cities in Florida, 3 cities in Texas, all the way to California before heading north to southern Canada. From there they travel throughout northern U.S stopping in Montana, Colorado, Michigan, and a couple other states before reentering Canada on April 5th for two more concerts. They end their 2026 tour on April 9th in Brooklyn, New York.
