Holdfast. : A Denver Local Band

Now for those who live in or around Denver, CO may or may not have heard of this band. But if you attended this years Regis University’s Loyolapalooza event, they were the main attraction for music.

For a bit more information on them as a band. Holdfast. members are 2 brothers and a cousin (whom they consider as another brother), they grew up next door to eachother in Windsor, Colorado before attending CSU Fort Collins before deciding to ultimately pursue a music career and let me tell you did that decision pay off.

In the last couple years, they have released several notable albums including their newest 14-track album called Darkness To Light in August 2026 and their debut album in 2021 called Stay and Fight which was released shortly after they won the "Crowd Favorite" title at KTCL 93.3's Hometown For The Holidays competition on December 21, 2019, this record firmly put them on the map in the Rocky Mountain music scene.

Since their debut, they have been stead fast on becoming the most popular band throughout the Front Range. Using the momentum built from their Darkness To Light release, has earned them a regular feature rotation on Colorado networks like 9News Denver and spots as the "Colorado Artist of the Day" on independent radio stations like KRFC FM.

Now recently they have been able to lock down the title as one of Front Range’s must-see live rock bands. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Killers, U2, Coldplay, Muse and other alt-rock, indie pop, and post-punk revival bands.

As the oldest member of the trio, Mikey Maddocks serves as the stabilizing anchor of Holdfast., grounding the band's dynamic energy while contributing a unique blend of technical expertise and musical precision. Utilizing the analytical background he developed while studying computer science and zoology at Colorado State University, he handles much of the group's digital infrastructure, web operations, and touring logistics. Musically, Mikey is most recognized for driving the band's post-punk and synth-pop grooves with his tight, melodic basslines, while simultaneously elevating their stadium-sized choruses with vital vocal harmonies that flesh out their massive sound as a three-piece power trio.

Tommy Maddocks is recognized as the fiery, high-energy heartbeat of the trio, bringing a massive and intensely athletic presence to the band's rhythm section. Originally trained in classical piano alongside his brother and cousin, he ultimately found his true calling on the drum kit, developing a style defined by driving, explosive percussion that anchors the band's stadium-ready alternative rock sound. On stage, Tommy is famous across the Colorado music scene for his wild, unpredictable showmanship—which occasionally includes jumping over his drum kit mid-set—providing the visual and sonic adrenaline that defines the trio's acclaimed live performances.

As the charismatic frontman and primary lyricist of the band, Charlie Maddocks is most recognized for his soaring vocal power and deeply introspective songwriting. Drawing frequent critical comparisons to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, Charlie is celebrated for a dramatic vocal range that seamlessly shifts from soft, vulnerable verses to massive, arena-ready anthems. His songwriting dives heavily into themes of resilience, mental health, and modern isolation, directly giving rise to the band's core philosophy of perseverance. Beyond his role as the band's emotional anchor, Charlie utilizes clean, texture-rich rhythm guitar hooks to shape the cinematic, synth-infused alternative rock identity that defines the trio's signature sound.
